The Future Scares Me

So this little activity in and of itself is not really so bad, I get that. It is what this activity represents that has me nervous. James Dobson says in his Bringing Up Boys book that one boy will do crazy things but when you get more than one boy together they will push each other to do crazier and crazier things.

So this particular evening I was out working on our deck and our oldest tells me to watch him. I turn around to see him sitting on the little red rocket ready to go down. I told him I wasn't sure that was such a good idea. In the mean time his younger brother (only 3yrs old) is chanting in the background telling him to do it. He is only 3!!! Again, this was maybe not such a big deal, it is what this will lead to that I am worried about. I have no doubt that at some point in time they will be standing on top of the quonset doing the same thing!

Don't get me wrong, I thoroughly appreciated the creativity and ability to entertain themselves. This activity kept them busy for an hour. I know, however; that I will not always appreciate the ideas that their creativity leads them to do.

Pray for this mom of 3 boys and watch out Nikki!

Thanks for sharing. It was fun to read. I agree with boys you can just never tell what will be coming next. Maybe 2 girls will come them down.....no I don't really think so. :)

It's not just boys. I am more concerned about my middle girl than my boy. He eggs her on to do it, then if she survives it, he does it. Yikes.
The MOPS theme this year is so true: Mothering is an Adventure!

Brings back lots of memories Kim and they both grew up!! Some times you wonder when they fall out of tree's, fall a sleep in the sun and get terrible sunburned, starts fire's and almost burns down the shower house etc. So thankful for our guarding angles to watch over them. It is such a special time watching your children grow up and I wouldn't want to miss a minute of it. Enjoy
